Her Peas Are Never Good
Music & Lyrics written by Chris Murphy
Fanny Dupont ran a restaurant way down in Fisherman's Square
It used to be the place to eat; the sailors all went there
But then one night I went for a bite; Oh how I regret that meal
She ruined her fish with a nasty dish; 'twas quite a grotesque ordeal
Her Peas Are Never Good (2x)
Her peas well they're worse than Hell
Her Peas Are Never Good
I found it strange the menu changed - it seemed like over night
And like a disease she had her peas on every plate in sight
'There's nothing worse,' the sailors cursed, 'where did this shite come from?'
Fanny cried, her sales died, the people wouldn't come
Her Peas Are Never Good (2x)
Her peas well they're worse than Hell
They often give off an awful smell
They'll ruin your favorite piece of meat
Her Peas Are Never Good
Then one day she went away without making a sound
But I got word from a little bird she moved to me parent's town
You know me dad would be so glad with a brand new restaurant
I warned him 'No, you should not go; you'll get what you don't want!'
Her Peas Are Never Good (2x)
Her peas well they're worse than Hell
They often give off an awful smell
You'll curse the seat you sat to eat
They'll ruin your favorite piece of meat
So listen close to my advice
Her Peas Are Never Good
Me mom left home to visit Rome for 7 days and nights
Me dad's a man who never can control his appetites
At Fanny's place he stuffed his face with sweet potato pie
His stomach turned, and churned and burned; she had her peas inside!
Her Peas Are Never Good (2x)
Her peas well they're worse than Hell
They often give off an awful smell
You'll curse the seat you sat to eat
They'll ruin your favorite piece of meat
So listen close to my advice
Think twice or else you'll pay the price
Whenever you think of Fanny's food...
Her Peas Are Never Good (3x)
