We're Drinkin' PBR
Written by Chris Murphy
Finnegan's Jar's the neighborhood bar that everybody knows
Finnegan grins and says "Come in; the Guinness freely flows!"
But Monday morning rain came pouring down from cloudy skies
I ordered up a Guinness but poor Finnegan sobbed "We're dry!"
Chorus
We're Drinkin' PBR
We're Drinkin' PBR
The barman's out of Guinness Stout
We're Drinkin' PBR
What do you do when your favorite brew is nowhere to be found?
Do you leave your mates and head for the gates of an unfamiliar town?
Me, I'll stay at Finnegan's Jar, the finest bar around
Whatever he's got, cold or not, I'm happy to slug it down
(Chorus)
It's been three days and three long nights without my favorite beer
I pass the time with friends of mine and everybody's here
Except for ol' MacMurray who's wife says "No my dear,
I'll not have my married man out drinkin' anywhere!!!"
(Chorus)
Chorus
We're Drinkin' PBR
We're Drinkin' PBR
The barman shouts "Who wants a stout instead of PBR?!?!"
The sound of hope, the angels spoke, I heard the church bells ring
We'd been without our favorite stout, but Winter's turned to Spring
Now from our lips the Guinness drips like dew from Gabriel's wing
But if we should go dry again we have a song to sing
Chorus (2x)
